MMFC Events 2007
26.5.07 - Event Two Report - LOOPS & ROLLS.
As you will see from the photos, it was a great day for flying at Linton today. Unfortunately the turnout for the event was poor. There were only two other pilots apart from myself willing to have a bit of fun today, competition veteran Robin Wooley and our very own Treasurer Robert Hookey. I'd liketo thank them both for taking part in what was to be a very fun event.
This event usually generates some good humoured banter regarding interesting loop shapes and near misses with trees/ground etc. in the pilots shear determination to eek out as many maneouvers as possible!
The rules were simple. You have 2 minutes from the moment the wheels leave the ground to perform as many loops and rolls as you safely can. You are awarded 1pt for every Loop and Roll. The Loop is always the leading maneouver and has to be immediately followed by a Roll to be classed as a point. The winner is the pilot who amasses the most points over three rounds.

28.4.07 - Event One Report - CLIMB and GLIDE.
Firstly, i'd like to thank all members who attended todays event at Egerton, despite challenging windy conditions everyone had a go and there was some very good flying.
The Climb and Glide event has always been a favourite with members, and this year I added a few extra things in to make it a bit more fun and challenging at the same time. The rules were as follows:
Two aircraft up at a time. Climb 30 seconds. Shut off engine completely and glide as long as possible. Zero points if plane lands off active runway. Zero points if plane flips over on landing. Zero points if plane lands with engine still runnning. Round three was a special round whereby all pilots were timed how long they could glide the aircraft inverted with the clock stopping when they roll upright again.

There will be an inter-site scoring scheme that will hopefully encourage more members from all MMFC sites to take part and fly for their 'home ground'. As you can see, each of the three events will take place at a different site. So those of you that don't want to, or simply can't get to the other sites can at least participate at their regular flying site. However, remember you'll be earning points for your site, so attendence at the other events is strongly recommended if you want to stand any chance of being in the winning team! |
Please watch this space for further information over the coming weeks. If you have any queries, do not hesitate to contact me via e-mail: chris.broad@printbig.co.uk
